ATSUKO NISHIDA
Operating as a freelance graphic designer in Japan since the early 1990s, this artist shaped the visual identity of Game Freak's flagship franchise through the creation of its most recognized mascot. Her 1998 Pikachu Illustrator card became the world's most valuable trading card in 2021 when it sold for over $5 million. She utilizes traditional watercolors and digital media to produce illustrations for the Pokémon Trading Card Game and various Nintendo 3DS titles.
